To party is not the first thing that will come to your mind when you touchdown in Hiroshima, Japan. It’s more like a destination for contemporary history geeks and okonomiyaki lovers. Those sound like “Boring!” for party animals.

But, if you’re in the company of your friends and wish to sneak out one night to have some booze and dance the night away, prepare yourself ‘coz Hiroshima could also be your Ibiza!

1. Lagoon Hiroshima

What’s the first platform you’ll consult when you look for the best party places in Hiroshima? It could be your friends or Google. The search engine will give you this club in the number one spot.

True enough, Lagoon Hiroshima is a luxurious full-scale clubbing venue! It’s complete with those glaring, flashing lights, plus chandeliers, lounges, and couches to create unforgettable moments with your friends or loved ones. All you can drink beverages? Yes, you got it.

2. Mac Bar

Now, here’s something close to the heart of the locals that, when it was threatened, Hiroshima would close for good in 2016 after four decades of operation, but it didn’t. However, the original building where it stood before was pulled down, and its owner passed away.

Fortunately, Mac Bar found a brand-new space a year later and continued treating guests to awesome music and booze, plus an interior design that you’ll look forward to. Enjoy the party experience for a minimum of 1,000 yen.

3. Tropical Bar Revolución

Hopping into a bar that sounds like Mexican is oh-so-fascinating. And yes, Tropical Bar Revolución will never fail you. Located on the eighth floor of the building where it stands, it combines Western hemisphere vibes with a tropical ambience attractive to both foreigners and locals alike. Who knows? You might find your American or European best friend here. Its other name is Rev’s.

4. Biru Stand Shigetomi

For those who are interested in partying, but want the experience toned down, bring yourself to Biru Stand Shigetomi. It’s more of a bar than a club.

It's the wow factor? It’s a standing beer bar run by bartenders who can customize your drink according to how you like it to taste. For example, think of a beer, but you want it more mellow and less bitter than what others get. Just ask your bartender about it.

5. Koba

Can’t get enough of the party vibes, but without the look and feel of a full-scale club? Bring it on at Koba. It’s the perfect balance of low-key and intense, as it is actually part of an izakaya restaurant, but there are hard rock and heavy metal banging around you. Let the drinks pour freely as you keep your earbuds in your bag for a nice musical experience. Non-rock lovers are also welcome here.

6. Wine Bar ViVi

This wine bar looks simple on the outside and luxurious on the inside. It’s also a laid-back party place. No blinding lights, and there’s no pressure for you to overly socialize. The moment you walk in, you’ll be greeted by a sommelier who will help you pair your meal with the right wine. Booking in advance isn’t recommended as the prices here are steep, however. Enjoying the moment costs around 10,000 yen. Oh, yikes!

7. EIGHT

Last, but not least, is EIGHT, which can be considered a hybrid between a bar and a restaurant. The light effects are just so cool. The setup in the interiors is a restaurant, which means you can order meals like Seafood Paella, fusion dishes, and your Japanese favorites, but there are disco balls, dim lights, and blue lights, enough for you to go all out when conversing with your friends and loved ones.

For a place that was once where the very first atomic bomb was dropped in the 1940s, it will sound unnerving to open clubs and bars in this location, as that may draw some attention. But, guess what, Hiroshima is also a great party destination. If you’re changing your outfits from the tours to something glamorous for those liquor glasses, then you’re welcome. Remember to just sleep sufficient hours, since traveling is prone to sleepless nights. Party on!
