When you think of retail, you think of China. According to the market insights website WARC, Asians love visiting stores not just for the products but also for the experience. This is evident in the various street markets across Asia, from India to Japan.
And, in Japan, you will be surprised to find that in cities where street markets are highly unlikely to be found, such as in quiet historic Hiroshima, they are there to treat you to unforgettable shopping experiences. Let’s go shoppin’ and dropping’!

A few reminders when shopping for goods in Japan to bring home. Souvenirs are safe, as well as smaller food treats, but some meat products, fruits, and vegetables are not allowed at Japanese airports and in your home country’s airports too.
So, if you wish to try those food items, you can consume them at the hotel. Also, be prepared for the possibility of paying for added baggage weight at the airport if you shopped a lot. Otherwise, have fun shopping.
