Visiting Shobara soon? In this guide, we list the best restaurants in Shobara and highlight some of our recommendations to check out.

Shobara is a magical place to experience Hiroshima’s thriving food scene.

Sure, it’s not the grandest.

And it’s not the fanciest.

But if you think about it…

Dining and experiencing the local food scene in what seems to be the old Japan, surrounded by picturesque natural landscapes.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

To give you an idea of the best way to experience the local food culture, we will teach you where and what to eat in Shobara, Hiroshima:

1. Shobara-yaki at Yoshi

If Hiroshima is known for its regional delicacy, okonomiyaki, there’s an even more local twist to this dish—the Shobara-yaki.

Instead of using the traditional okonomiyaki sauce and noodles, okonomiyaki in Shobara uses rice and savory ponzu sauce.

It is often topped with green onions and kimchi on top of the usual layers of cabbage, bean sprouts, pork belly, egg, and rice.

Get one at Yoshi, an okonomiyaki restaurant that serves all sorts of Japanese pancakes to suit your taste.
